Tulane Football: Injury Report and Notes

Hunter Howden will sit out the 2010 Season (Credit: tulanegreenwave.com)

I’m going to try and organize a page just devoted to injuries, but struggling to decide how to format that page. Regardless, here are a look at some of the unfortunate injuries so far through camp:

-Sophomore guard Hunter Howden, who has struggled with concussions, will not play this entire year.  The medical staff has not cleared him and will not re-evaluate him until after the season is completed in December.  Howden started two games last year as a freshman, while playing in five.

-Freshman center Ian Wiggins has not yet practiced with his new team, because of a concussion that he suffered in class.  He passed out in class and hit his head.

Notes:

-The school officially named Rob Phillips as the school’s director of strength and conditioning. Here is the GeauxWave.com story from Monday.

-Joe Kemp has also officially moved to the WR position, after starting 6 games last year at QB.  Kemp is also attempting to return kicks for the Green Wave this year as he is trying to contribute anywhere on the field.
